They
They are the ones
who can't see
the humans
on either side of them
in their souls
and in their hearts
What does it mean to care?
You are the mountain
they have to get around
your backs are the stairs
that get them to the top.
does anyone really care?
Their eyes widen
when you fall short
they don't understand
or what life means
they can't see what lies ahead
they can only see
the "they" beneath.
They are you and me.
